Westport Municipal WiFi extended to Compo Beach and Longshore

Westport First Selectman Gordon F. Joseloff has announced that the town’s free municipal WiFi service to access the Internet has been extended to areas of Compo Beach and Longshore Club Park.
   
Signs identifying the availability of service have been erected by the town’s Office of Information Technology at Compo Beach, where there are five access areas, and at Longshore, where there are three.....more>>

Democratic primary to be held Tuesday, Aug. 12

The Democratic Registrar of Voters, Nita Cohen, has announced that there will be a scheduled primary for the position of Congressman from the 4th Congressional District, on the Democratic line.

The polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2008.  All registered Democrats are eligible to vote in the primary.....more>>

Historic District Commission seeks members

First Selectman Gordon F. Joseloff has announced that the town is seeking residents to serve on the Historic District Commission. 

Members of the commission are appointed by the First Selectman for a term of five years, upon the recommendation of the commission.

The five-member commission reviews applications for Certificates of Appropriateness for exterior changes to local landmark properties or properties located in local historic districts, and holds public hearings on such applications....more>>
