The mission of the Westport Department of Human Services is to promote independence, personal development and an enhanced quality of life for Westport residents of all ages through a variety of programs and services.
The Department is organized into three service areas:
- Youth & Family Services
- Social Services
- Senior Services
In all three areas the Department works in partnership with other community organizations, service providers and funding sources.
The professional staff coordinates and provides services to Westport residents, including:
- Social services to elderly residents and their families
- Nutrition program and recreational and educational programming at the Westport Center for Senior Activities
- Casework services for individuals and families
- Financial assistance
- Information and referral
- Community needs assessment, planning and development
