Directions to Parks and Recreation Department

Heading south and west on the Merritt Parkway (from New Haven area)

  • Take exit 42 (Route 57).
  • Turn right at the bottom of the ramp on Route 57
  • Stay right on Route 57
  • Turn left (south) on Route 136 in about 1/2 mile.
  • Continue on Route 136 across the Post Road until it intersects Compo Road South. Continue straight on Compo Road South to Longshore Club Park.
  • Enter park and continue on loop road to large parking lot. The Parks and Recreation Administrative building is the opposite side of the parking lot from the Inn at Longshore.

Heading north and east on the Merritt Parkway (from Stamford area)

  • Take exit 42 (Route 57).
  • Turn left at the bottom of the ramp on Route 57
  • Stay right on Route 57
  • Turn left (south) on Route 136 in about 1/2 a mile.
  • Continue on Route 136 across the Post Road until it intersects Compo Road South.
  • Continue straight on Compo Road South to Longshore Club Park.
  • Enter park and continue on loop road to large parking lot. The Parks and Recreation Administrative building is the opposite side of the parking lot from the Inn at Longshore.

Heading south & west on I-95 (from New Haven area)

  • Take Exit 18, the Sherwood Island Connector.
  • Turn right on the Connector, and then left at 2nd traffic light (Greens Farms Road).
  • Continue for about 2 miles through two stop signs to light at Compo Road South.
  • Turn left on Compo Road South and continue for 1/2 mile to Longshore Club Park on right.
  • Enter park and continue on loop road to large parking lot. The Parks and Recreation Administrative building is the opposite side of the parking lot from the Inn at Longshore.

Heading north and east on I-95 (from Stamford Area)

  • Take Exit 18, the Sherwood Island Connector.

  • Turn south on Compo Road South (Route 136) for 2 miles to traffic light.
  • Continue straight on Compo Road South for about 1/2 mile to Longshore Club Park on right.
  • Enter park and continue on loop road to large parking lot. The Parks and Recreation Administrative building is the opposite side of the parking lot from the Inn at Longshore.
