CIVILIAN DISPATCHER  |   POLICE DEPARTMENT  

WMEA PG VI                                 

HOURS: Between 7 a.m. – 11 p.m.

SALARY: $ 37,516 – 50,274

RESPONSIBILITIES:   Under the supervision of the Shift Commander and the direction of the Desk Officer, shall receive and record information related to the needs of all emergency services and initiate proper procedures to deploy appropriate personnel and equipment to accomplish missions.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Ability to react quickly and calmly in emergency situations.  Ability to speak clearly and distinctly.  Ability to follow written and oral instructions. Ability to accurately receive and relay information. Ability to keep clear and concise records, some being of a confidential nature. Must obtain within six months of hire for the following: State of Connecticut Telecommunicator, E-911, Emergency Medical Dispatch, N.C.I.C. COLLECT, and other certification as may be required by the service.

Computer clerk – Part-Time

18 hours per week

  • Salary commensurate with experience
  • Responsible for data entry, generating reports, and assists with voter registration and help with elections.
