Farmers Market to feature weekly demonstrations 

The Westport Farmers’ Market, held Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Imperial Avenue Parking Lot,  will be featuring weekly cooking demonstrations from area chefs through Nov.19.  The demonstrations will feature products available in the market and will offer eaters tips and tricks for working with local, seasonal foods.

The cooking lessons and tastings will be held in the community tent, a forty seat tented area sponsored by the Town of Westport as part of this year's Celebrate Westport programming....more>> 

Westport EMS to offer Heart Saver training

The American Heart Association Heart Saver Adult CPR  with AED training will be offered on the following dates:

• June 24: 9 a.m. and 12 p.m
• July 7:  9 a.m. 12 p.m , 3 p.m
• July 7:  7 p.m. (Heart Saver Child and Infant Program)
• July 9:  9 a.m.

Students only need to attend one session.

All classes are in the Westport Police Department class room at 50 Jesup Road.

Classes run about two hours and are free to Westport residents and all town employees.

The training is sponsored by Westport Volunteer EMS.

Town launches CodeRed High-Speed Telephone Emergency Notification System

First Selectman Gordon F. Joseloff has announced that the Town of Westport has contracted with Emergency Communications Network, Inc., of Ormond Beach, Fla., for its CodeRED high-speed telephone emergency notification services. “This system will improve the safety of all our residents by giving us the ability to deliver emergency telephone notification/information messages to targeted areas or the entire town at the rate of 1,000 calls a minute,” he said....more>>
