Make a Difference Day Committee members are appointed by the First Selectman, and serve two-year terms.

Make a Difference Day is a national day of giving and sharing. USA Weekend and Points of Light Foundation sponsor this day every October. Communities, individuals and groups around the country contribute the day to their neighbors. Cash awards are given to the best projects and the winners donate these stipends to local charitable organizations.
