South Western Regional Planning Agency (SWRPA) representatives serve two year terms.
The South Western Regional Planning Agency coordinates local municipal interests and actions with respect to state and federal programs and initiatives. It also provides advisory and technical assistance, services to its constituent municipalities in land-use planning, housing, and the environment.
The transportation planning process in Connecticut's South Western Region is a collaborative effort of this agency, the Metropolitan Planning Organization, and pertinent state and federal agencies that provide public funding for transportation improvements, and the Region's eight municipalities - Darien, Greenwich, New Canaan, Norwalk, Stamford, Weston, Westport and Wilton.
