Westport Conservation Director Alicia Mozian has invited interested Westporters to apply for two vacancies on the Conservation Commission.
“If you have an academic and or professional background in environmental studies or science, landscape architecture, architecture, environmental or civil engineering, or a related field, please consider volunteering your time to this worthy effort,” said Mozian.
The commission’s main function is to administer the town’s inland wetland and watercourse regulations and the Waterway Protection Line Ordinance. Members are expected to participate in monthly public hearings, visit sites where regulated activities are proposed and attend educational training opportunities throughout the year.
The two vacancies consists of one regular member vacancy which serves a four year term, and one alternate member position serving a term of two years.
Those interested should contact Mozian at 203-341-1089.
