The Edwin A. Audley Scholarship Fund of the Westport Volunteer Emergency Medical Service has awarded five scholarships for the 2009-2010 academic year. This year’s recipients are Geoffrey Jordan, biomedical engineering, University of Pennsylvania; Necole Lepre, science/biology, Wesleyan University; Scott Luciani, EMT-I, JHPC; Jason Prevelige, physician assistant, at Quinnipiac University; and Matt Soicher, paramedic, Westchester Community College.
The purpose of the Scholarship Fund is to provide tuition assistance to deserving and qualified, paid or volunteer, members of the Police, Fire, and Emergency Medical Service Departments of the Town of Westport, or to their dependents, that are actively pursuing an education toward a career in emergency medicine or related health care services. The Scholarship Fund is intended to be perpetually in existence to honor retired Police Captain Edwin A. Audley and his contributions to Westport Volunteer EMS and emergency medical services in Westport, CT.
