Green Energy Task Force releases recommendations

Chair Carl Leaman has announced that the Westport Green Energy Task Force has released its recommendations for reducing the town’s carbon footprint.

“The task force divided their recommendations into four sections: the town, education, business and residential,” said Leaman.

“An interim goal for 2010 of reducing Westport’s carbon footprint by 10 percent is recommended,” Leaman said.  “We anticipate that the ‘We Green Westport Pledge’ program will assist residents on deciding what they might and can do to reduce their footprint.”

Residents may access http://wegreenwestport.org/ to obtain additional information on the pledge program.
