PUBLIC NOTICE

The Westport Police Department will be filing an application for the Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Formula Program funds under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.  It is available for public comment 05/18/2009 through 5/28/2009.  To view a copy of the application under consideration by U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance, contact Deputy Chief Dale Call (203-341-6026) at the Westport Police Department during that time frame.
 
The Department will use the JAG award for the purpose of supporting funding for local initiatives, technical assistance, equipment, supplies, and activities that will improve or enhance law enforcement programs.
 
The Westport Police Department will receive $13,959.00.  This grant under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act does not require any matching funds.
      
The Westport Police Department notified the office of the First Selectman of its intent to apply for JAG funds and made its application available for review on May 18, 2009.
