The Westport Farmers’ Market will be featuring weekly cooking demonstrations from area chefs through Nov.19. The demonstrations will feature products available in the market and will offer eaters tips and tricks for working with local, seasonal foods.
The cooking lessons and tastings will be held in the community tent, a forty seat tented area sponsored by the Town of Westport as part of this year's Celebrate Westport programming.
The Westport Farmers’ Market sees the demonstrations as an integral part of their commitment to eater education. Market Director, Sherri Brooks Vinton explains, “The Westport Farmers’ Market is not only a great place to buy fresh, local food, it’s a community center where eaters can come together to learn about the benefits of supporting local agriculture and some tips and tricks for working with seasonal ingredients.”
Participating restaurants include, Tavern on Main, Barcelona, Manolo, Match in Norwalk, nutritionist Rachel Khanna, market members The Green Umbrella, Riverbank, Director, Sherri Brooks Vinton and more.
