NOTICE OF DECISION

 The Westport Historic District Commission held an electronic public meeting at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, during which the Commission held a public hearing pursuant to C.G.S. § 7-147q on the proposed designation of six (6) town-owned properties as local Historic Properties.  After receiving public comment, the Commission took the following action:

 ACCEPTED the proposed establishment of six Local Historic Property Designations on Town-owned property:

1. Evergreen Avenue Bridge over Deadman Brook
2. Jesup Road Bridge over Deadman Brook
3. Greens Farms Road Bridge over Muddy Brook
4. Cross Highway Bridge over Muddy Brook
5. Long Lots Road Bridge over Muddy Brook
6. Myrtle Avenue Bridge over Deadman Brook

 

You are receiving notice of this action as owner of the properties proposed and accepted by the Commission for local Historic Property designation.  Pursuant to C.G.S. § 7-147q(g), the owner of a proposed historic property “may object to the proposed designation by submitting to the Commission or to the legislative body of the municipality a notarized statement certifying that the person filing such objection is the entire or partial owner of the property and objects to the designation.” 

 

Unless the Commission receives such objection within thirty (30) days of the public hearing held on August 12, 2025, the Commission will submit its report accepting the proposed designations to the RTM for further consideration and potential action effectuating the designations as Town ordinances.
