Notice is hereby given that the Westport Board of Selectmen, Traffic Authority, and Water Pollution Control Authority (WPCA) will hold a public meeting on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 9:00 AM in Westport Town Hall Auditorium, 110 Myrtle Avenue, Westport, Connecticut. The meeting will be livestreamed on www.westportct.gov and/or broadcast on Westport’s Optimum Government Access Channel 79, subject to availability. Comments from the public regarding agenda items may be sent for distribution to the Board prior to the meeting to selectman@westportct.gov. Agenda to include but not be limited to the following items and is subject to revision(s): 

 

  1. To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve the minutes of the Board of Selectmen’s and Water Pollution Control Authority’s meetings of February 11, 2026.

     

    REVISED 02-20-2026 to include Item #2

  2. To take such action as the meeting may determine, upon the request of the Finance Director, to approve an Agreement between the Town and Health Insurance Services, Inc. (HISMI) regarding the proposed retiree health plan replacement. 

     

  3. Acting as the Local Traffic Authority, to take such action as the meeting may determine, to approve the requests for the use of the town roadways and/or properties for the Westport Downtown Association events, all contingent upon compliance with safety recommendations from Town departments and in accordance with Procedures for Use of Town-owned Property, Facilities and/or Public Roadways, as follows:

     

    a) Fine Arts Festival - closure of (i) Main Street from Post Road East to Elm Street; (ii) the portion of Elm Street from Main Street to 35 Elm Street; and (iii) the Sigrid Schultz Plaza, from Friday, May 22, 2026 at 6:00 AM (set up) to Sunday, May 24, 2026 at 10:00 PM (breakdown).

    b) Church Lane Summer Music Series – use of town sidewalk adjacent to Church Lane on Fridays and Saturdays from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm from June 5, 2026 to September 26, 2026.

    c) Sidewalk Sale – use of town sidewalks from Friday, June 26, 2026 at 8:00 am to Sunday, June 28, 2026 at 8:00 pm.

    d) Westoberfest – closure of (i) Sigrid Schultz Plaza and (ii) the portion of Elm Street from Main Street to Baldwin Parking Lot from Friday, October 2, 2026 at 3:00 pm to Saturday, October 3, 2026 at 9:00 pm.

     

  4. In accordance with Connecticut General Statutes Sec. 9-199 (b) to appoint Lee Caney as an alternate member to the Westport Board of Assessment Appeals for a term commencing immediately through March 31, 2027 and until a successor is appointed and qualified.

     

  5. As the WPCA, to take such action as the meeting may determine to approve the supplemental sanitary sewer connection request for the property at #22 Owenoke Park, contingent upon compliance with the WPCA General Manager’s letter of February 13, 2026.

     

  6. As the WPCA, to schedule a date to consider and determine final benefit assessments to be levied for the design, construction, and construction oversight of the sewer system (Contract No. 75, Town Bid 23-068T) affecting properties located in all or part of the following areas: 

Evergreen Avenue, Evergreen Parkway, Tamarac Road, Lone Pine Lane, Gorham Avenue, Compo Road North and Brookside Drive.
