Notice & Agenda

Notice is hereby given that the Westport Board of Selectmen, Local Traffic Authority (LTA), and Water Pollution Control Authority (WPCA) will hold a public meeting on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at 9:00 AM in the Westport Town Hall Auditorium, 110 Myrtle Avenue, Westport, Connecticut. The meeting will be livestreamed on www.westportct.gov and/or broadcast on Westport’s Optimum Government Access Channel 79, subject to availability. Comments from the public regarding agenda items may be sent for distribution to the Board prior to the meeting to selectman@westportct.gov. Agenda to include but not be limited to the following item(s) and is subject to revision: 

To take such action as the meeting may determine: 

1. To approve the minutes of the Board of Selectman’s Meeting of July 8, 2026.

    

2. Upon the recommendation of the Tax Collector and in accordance with C.G.S. Sec. 12-129, to approve the refunds of overpayments of taxes, as presented.

    

3. To review and approve the request for a waiver of the Town Policy on Encroachments on Town Property as it relates to a stone wall installed within the Town Right-of-Way at 19 Center Street, contingent upon compliance with recommendations and requirements from relevant Town Departments and/or Commissions, and execution of an Encroachment Easement and Hold Harmless Agreement satisfactory to the Town Attorney’s Office.

    

4. Acting as the LTA, to approve (i) the closure of Railroad Place and (ii) temporary NO PARKING on the East Side of Riverside Avenue from 555 Riverside Avenue (Saugatuck Firehouse) to 599 Riverside Avenue (Tutti’s Restaurant) from Friday, September 25, 2026 at 6:00 PM to Saturday, September 26, 2026 at 7:00 PM (rain dates: October 2-3) for the 2026 Slice of Saugatuck Event, sponsored by the Westport Weston Chamber of Commerce, contingent upon compliance with recommendations, requests, and final inspections from Town departments and in accordance with the Policy for the Use of Town Property, Facilities and/or Public Roadways.
5. Upon the request of the Westport Volunteer Emergency Medical Service (WVEMS) and in accordance with the Westport Policy for Gifts to the Town, to accept the transfer of ownership of a 2025 Freightliner M2 106plus – PL – Custom Ambulance (VIN ending 4425) from the WVEMS to the Town of Westport.

    

6. Upon the request of the Director of Human Services and in accordance with the Policy for Gifts to the Town, to accept a $5,400.00 donation to the DHS Campership Program account from the Westport Weston Foundation.

    

7. Upon the request of the Finance Director, to approve the renewal of the Consulting Contract between the Town of Westport and Marsh McLennan Agency as it relates to consulting for Workers Compensation, Property and Casualty renewal, analysis, case management and assistance with the Town and Board of Education Safety and Health Committees.

    

8. Upon the request of the Registrars of Voters and pursuant to Section 467 of Public Act 26-68, to approve and authorize First Selectman Kevin Christie to execute the 2026 State of Connecticut Early Voting Grant Agreement in the amount of $18,003.26 to support the implementation and administration of early voting.
9. As the WPCA, to approve the request for a supplemental sanitary sewer connection for the property at #24 Compo Road North, contingent upon compliance with the WPCA General Manager’s letter of July 10, 2026.

    

10. As the WPCA, to approve the request for a supplemental sanitary sewer connection for the property at #127 Imperial Avenue, contingent upon compliance with the WPCA General Manager’s letter of July 9, 2026.
