A field trip of the Planning and Zoning Commission is scheduled on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at 1:00pm to Wakeman Field B at 70 North Avenue for purposes of obtaining orientation for the applications, described below.

Municipal Improvement (CGS §8-24) at 70 North Ave: Appl. #PZ-26-00277, Request for a report from the Planning and Zoning Commission, submitted pursuant to CGS §8-24, Municipal Improvement, by Erik Barbieri, on behalf of the First Selectman, for installation of athletic field lighting at Wakeman B Field consisting of four 70 foot poles with LED fixtures to support school and permitted community athletic activities, located in the Residence AAA District, PID #F12077000.  

70 North Avenue: Special Permit/Site Plan Appl. #PZ-26-00275 submitted by Erik Barbieri, for property owned by the Town of Westport, for installation of athletic field lighting at Wakeman B Field consisting of four 70 foot poles with LED fixtures to support school and permitted community athletic activities, located in the Residence AAA District, PID #F12077000.

Parking should be available on the road and in the lot closer to Wakeman Farm. Please meet at bleachers.

The public is invited to attend, but no public comment will be taken at this meeting.  The purpose of the site visit is to familiarize the commissioners with the site and how the proposed project fits into the site; it is not a hearing. Statements and questions from neighbors should be presented at the hearing so that these can become part of the record.
