Planning & Zoning Director Michelle Perillie has announced that at 6:00pm on June 15, 2026, the Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing to review two Text Amendments of the Zoning Regulations.
- Text Amendment #870 was authored by the Planning and Zoning Commission and proposes to modify §5, Definition of Special Needs Individuals, to reference U.S. Code 42 U.S.C. §15002 in order to serve a wider range of individuals.
- Text Amendment #867, submitted by Redniss and Mead, proposes modifying §39A, Inclusionary Housing Overlay District (IHZ), to allow offsite affordable housing, at the discretion of the Planning and Zoning Commission, where the Planning and Zoning Commission makes a finding that the housing for Special Needs Individuals exceeds the overall intent and public benefit of onsite housing.
The June 15, 2026 public hearing will be held remotely using Zoom, it will be livestreamed on the Town’s website at www.westportct.gov, and/or will be accessible on Optimum Government Access Channel 79.
