The Westport Representative Town Meeting (RTM) is seeking candidates to fill the District 7 vacancy created by the passing of Jack Klinge.

In accordance with Section C5-8C of the Town Charter, the vacancy must be filled by a registered voter who resides in RTM District 7. No political party affiliation is required as Westport’s RTM is a nonpartisan legislative body. The appointment will fill the remainder of the term, which expires on November 16, 2027.

Residents of RTM District 7 who are interested in being considered for the appointment are invited to submit a resume and a brief statement of interest no later than Monday, July 20, 2026, to Town Clerk Jeffrey Dunkerton at JDunkerton@westportct.gov.
