Sustainable Westport Logo Contest Winner Announced
The Sustainable Westport Advisory Team is pleased to announce the winner of its town-wide contest to design a new logo for the organization. Westporter Lisa Mezoff’s design (http://bit.ly/SWLogoWinner) has been selected from more than 50 designs submitted by local residents, students and businesses to represent the group’s sustainability mission.
The logo contest is part of an overall rebranding of the Town’s “Green Task Force” to better reflect its evolved mission engaging the entire community in projects ranging from renewable energy and energy efficiency, electric vehicles, recycling and waste management, to keeping waterways, beaches, and parks in pristine condition as Westport endeavors to be a net-zero community by 2050. Mezoff’s design will set the tone for an all-new Sustainable Westport website and social media scheduled to go live in August.
Sustainable Westport was thrilled with the creativity, variety, and the number of logo concepts and designs submitted. While choosing among the many compelling ideas submitted was difficult, in the end, Mezoff’s design stood out for its clarity and flexibility and was a unanimous pick.” Selection Committee member Dawn Henry said, “[T]he team felt the winning logo best balanced the multiple aspects of what sustainability means for Westport, while still being an elegantly simple design, and representing growth and the coming together of different parts of our community.” First Selectman Jim Marpe said, “I’m excited about Lisa’s design and love that our residents are crafting our Town’s identity as a sustainable community”.
First Selectman Marpe will present Ms. Mezoff with the prize check at tonight’s meeting of the Sustainable Westport Advisory Team scheduled for 7 pm in Room 309 of Town Hall.
Sustainable Westport will be celebrating participants’ submissions and concepts of sustainability in Westport. A poster of all the submitted designs will be on display at the Town Hall beginning July 15th. In the meantime, in addition to Mezoff’s winning design, designs receiving honorable mention can be seen at http://bit.ly/SWLogoHM and the poster of entrants can be seen at http://bit.ly/SWLogoEntries.
