Westport's Beautification Committee Members are appointed by the First Selectman, and serve two year terms.

The committee oversees care of some 300 "Greening of the Post Road" trees, originally planted by the Garden Department of the Westport Woman's Club, likewise of trees planted by the Committee itself on Elm Street and in Parker Harding Plaza.

A separate program, Adopt-A-Spot, allows groups or individuals to adopt a town intersection, and to arrange for the placement and maintenance of plantings, which entitles said group or individual to erect a small sign naming them as the "adopter."

Further, the Beautification Committee sponsors an annual "Clean Up Westport Day," falling on the last Saturday in April.
