Westport Weston Health District board members are appointed by the First Selectman of Westport and the Town of Weston Board of Selectmen, and serve three year terms.

In 1966, the Towns of Westport and Weston pioneered the Health District model by forming the first public health district in Connecticut.

The mission of the Health District, then and now, is to keep the communities of Westport and Weston healthy. Since its inception, the Westport Weston Health District has delivered a comprehensive array of professional public health services, all designed to meet the changing public health needs of both communities.
