Is the cold keeping you from playing?  Do you need a space to just have fun?

Well then, the answer is... Staples High School Open Gym!  

Sunday, January 12 - March 22 from 2:30 p.m. - 3:45 p.m. (no open gym 2/16 & 2/23)

Join us each Sunday at Staples High School Fieldhouse for an open gym time that will be available for residents to come play, be creative, and have fun!  There is no sign-up or registration required, please bring your own recreational supplies.
*children must have adult supervision*

Equipment provided - first come, first serve

Cost: $5 per day
Season Pass: $50 Westport Resident, $70 Non-Resident
Adults 18+


Dogs Allowed at Compo Beach Effective October 1, 2019 - March 31, 2020 with the following regulations:

  • Dogs are prohibited from the Pavilion, Playground and Boardwalk.
  • All dogs MUST be leashed in all areas of the park, except in the designated off leash area of the beach south of the Pavilion, including south beach.  Off leash regulations are posted at the entrance of the off leash area.
  • You are required by law to pick up after your dog. 
  • Violation of the above regulations subject to a fine of $77.00.

The Friends of Westport Parks and Recreation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization whose mission is to enhance, preserve, protect and promote the Town of Westport's Parks and Recreation facilities in partnership with the town, for the enjoyment of present and future generations of Westport residents.  The Friends' first project was serving as fiscal sponsor for fundraising for the new Halfway House at the Longshore Golf Course, which was built by a subcommittee of the Longshore Golf Advisory Committee.
