Halloween Parade 

Join us Tuesday, October 29th, for the Annual Children's Halloween Parade!

The parade will begin at 3:30pm and will travel up Main Street, go right on Avery Place and then left onto Myrtle Avenue. Children may trick or treat along Main Street and in Town Hall and then meet on the Green for refreshments, small gifts and the entertainment of Kenny Michaels from Signature Entertainment!

All children are invited to attend the annual HALLOWEEN Parade sponsored by the Westport Parks and Recreation Department, the Downtown Merchants Association and Westport P.A.L.

Dogs Allowed at Compo Beach Effective October 1, 2019 - March 31, 2020 with the following regulations:

  • Dogs are prohibited from the Pavilion, Playground and Boardwalk.
  • All dogs MUST be leashed in all areas of the park, except in the designated off leash area of the beach south of the Pavilion, including south beach.  Off leash regulations are posted at the entrance of the off leash area.
  • You are required by law to pick up after your dog. 
  • Violation of the above regulations subject to a fine of $77.00.

 Kids Playing Fall Soccer

Fall and Winter program offerings are here!  

Program registration will begin online on Wednesday, September 4 at 9 a.m.
We are so excited to offer great programs for the fall and winter!  We have added several pre-school programs for tots that are sure to keep your little one busy with soccerT-Ball, multi-sports and more!

Enjoy the beautiful autumn weather with tennis clinics for tots through adult levels.  In addition, Pickleball lessons at Doubleday Courts and Compo Beach, so grab your paddle and get on the court!  If you have played before, or if you are new to the game, these clinics will be nothing but  FUN!

The Friends of Westport Parks and Recreation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization whose mission is to enhance, preserve, protect and promote the Town of Westport's Parks and Recreation facilities in partnership with the town, for the enjoyment of present and future generations of Westport residents.  The Friends' first project was serving as fiscal sponsor for fundraising for the new Halfway House at the Longshore Golf Course, which was built by a subcommittee of the Longshore Golf Advisory Committee.
