Compo Beach is a 29 acre park with an extensive sand beach along the shore of Long Island Sound and borders the Saugatuck River.  It is handicapped accessible with a boardwalk, pavilion, concession stand, two sand volleyball courts, large wooden playscape, bathroom facilities and lockers, and is adjacent to the Ned Dimes Marina.   

COMPO BEACH DAILY PASSES ARE LIMITED TO 125 PER DAY 

The beach is open year round.  A daily fee is charged to park from May 1 through Sept. 30. from 4 a.m. to 10 p.m.  All cars must vacate by midnight.  Motor vehicles and motorcycles may enter the beach with a valid Parks and Recreation vehicle parking emblem or by paying the daily fee.  The daily fee is $45* weekdays, and $70* on weekends and holidays.  *Prices include CT State Sales Tax

Alcoholic beverages are prohibited at Compo Beach facility (parking lots, athletic fields, basketball courts, beach front area, and grass area) without a written permit issued by the Parks and Recreation Department, the exception being the South Beach picnic area.

*Floating beach wheelchair must be accompanied by an able bodied adult.

From Oct. 1 through March 30 dogs are allowed in designated areas.  Dogs must be kept on leash and close to handler/owner.  The 6ft physical protocol is to be followed for people and pets.
