Longshore Club Park Tennis Courts and Staples High School Tennis Courts Are Open with Restrictions.

To review the complete list of restrictions for each location, please see below.   In addition, no food or beverage concession is available.  Tennis courts will be monitored by Parks and Recreation staff to ensure compliance with the above guidelines.

Longshore Club Park, hosts nine Har-Tru tennis courts with lights for evening play. Court reservations are available online at http://www.westportct.club. Residents may purchase a premium tennis handpass or a basic handpass for the season. A premium tennis handpass eliminates the daily court fees.

Longshore Club Park Tennis Restrictions Due to CoVid-19

  • All players must have a reservation.  Reservations must be made online or via phone @203.341.1180. 
  • No walk-ups permitted.
  • Credit card payments only (Mastercard or Visa). 
  • No cash.
  • Players should arrive no more than 10 minutes PRIOR to time of reservation.
  • Face coverings MUST be worn during check-in.
  • Court time limited to 1 hour and 15 minutes.
  • Avoid using your hands to pick up tennis balls.  Use your racquet/foot to pick up tennis balls and hit them to your opponent.
  • Use two cans of tennis balls, each with distinct markings.  Each player should only use their own tennis balls.
  • Gates are to remain open.
  • Adhere to social distancing requirements while on property.
  • Wear a face covering when social distancing of at least 6 feet cannot be achieved.
  • All players should leave the facility immediately after play.

Staples High School Restrictions Due To CoVid-19

  • Court time limited to 1 hour and 15 minutes.
  • Avoid using your hands to pick up tennis balls.  Use your racquet/foot to pick up tennis balls and hit them to your opponent.
  • Use two cans of tennis balls with distinct markings.  Each player only uses their own tennis balls.
  • Gates are to remain open.
  • Adhere to social distancing requirements while on property.
  • Wear a face covering when social distancing of at least 6 feet cannot be achieved.
  • All players should leave the facility immediately after play.

Doubleday and Town Farms Restrictions Due to CoVid-19

  • Court time limited to 1 hour and 15 minutes.
  • Avoid using your hands to pick up tennis balls.  Use your racquet/foot to pick up tennis balls and hit them to your opponent.
  • Use two cans of tennis balls with distinct markings.  Each play only uses their own tennis balls.
  • Gates are to remain open.
  • Adhere to social distancing requirements while on property.
  • Wear a face covering when social distancing of at least 6 feet cannot be achieved.
  • All players should leave the facility immediately after play.

Any violations of the above restrictions may result in loss of tennis privileges.

Reservation Procedures

Courts are available for reserved play in 1.5 hour sessions by going online to http://westportct.club.  Unreserved courts are available for walk up play, fees apply. 

  • Premium Tennis Handpass holders may reserve courts five (5) days in advance online only at http://westportct.club beginning at 7:15 a.m.
  • Non-handpass holders may reserve courts two (2) days in advance online only at http://westportct.club beginning at 7:15 a.m.
  • Reservations can be changed online prior to 6 a.m. day of play.

Season Reservations - Suspended until further notice due to CoVid-19

Reservations for weekly play are available on a monthly or seasonal basis.  Applications due April 15.  Please contact Carmen Roda, Operation Manager at (203) 454-6181 or croda@westportct.gov for details and application. 

Group Reservations - Suspended until further notice due to CoVid-19

Limited court space is available Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for private parties, outings, or fundraising events.  Specific information on availability and reservations may be obtained at the courts.  Contact Longshore Tennis Office at (203) 341-1180. 

Fee Information for Longshore 

Per person, per 1.5 hour session

 Seniors/Juniors handpass holder   $8
 Adult handpass holder  $10
 Non-handpass holders  $15
 Premium Tennis handpass holder      N/C

Premium Tennis Handpass eliminates court fees and valid for one year from the date of purchase.
Available at the Parks and Recreation Office at Longshore or online.

Court Closure
Notification of court closure due to weather will be on the answering machine (203) 341-1180 no later than 7:30 a.m.

Cancellations
Persons with an advanced reservation must cancel their court time two (2) hours prior to their reserved time. If a person fails to cancel within two (2) hours on two (2) occasions they will lose reservation privileges for the remainder of the season.

Junior Play, Ages 8 - 17
Junior Play is welcome during the following hours:  

  • Juniors ages 8 - 17 years old can play only after 11 a.m.
  • Juniors aged 8 and 9 must play with an adult.
