Fire Pit Reservations

Dreaming of a cozy evening by the fire at one of the Westport's scenic South Beach? Our fire pits at Compo's South Beach offer the perfect spot to gather with friends and family.

How to apply:

  • Fire Pit Reservation Requests will be accepted starting the week of May 5th.
  • The first available Reservation date is May 12.
  • Email your completed Request Form to croda@westportct.gov
    • You must be a Westport Resident and at least 21 years old to reserve a firepit.
    • Requests must be submitted at least 7 days in advance.
    • Limited to 1 reservation per household per season. A second reservation may be granted if availability allows.

Fees & Details: Two (2) Fire pits available per night for rental

  • Rental Fee: $150 per reservation (due at time of booking by credit card or check)
  • Reservation Window: 4 PM - 10 PM, 7 days a week
  • Season: May 12 - September 30
  • Location: Compo South Beach

 General Rules:

  • The Permit Holder must be present the entire time and show valid ID and the issued Fire Pit Permit when requested.
  • Only dry, seasoned firewood is allowed. Wood Pallets and garbage are strictly prohibited.
  • Operations Staff will supervise the starting of the fire pit and will extinguish the fire pit at 10 PM. 
  • Fires must be prepared in the designated fire pit only. Only fire-starters provided by the Parks and Recreation Department are to be used. The use of tires or chemicals is not approved for starting fires.
  • The permit holder is responsible for guests and ensuring compliance with all rules.

Cancelations & Refunds:

  • Refunds (minus a $50 administrative fee) will only be given if a permit is canceled 3 weeks prior to the reservation date.
  • Fire pit rentals may be canceled (at the discretion of the Westport Parks and Recreation or Fire Department) due to inclement weather, or other related weather and environmental conditions, for example:
    • Fire pit rentals canceled by the Parks and Recreation or Fire Department (due to weather) will be rescheduled based on availability. Reservations that cannot be rescheduled will be credited to the Permittee's Parks and Recreation account.
