There is a set rate for officers regardless of rank. Persons or companies hiring police officers cannot request certain officers or officers of specific ranks. Every effort is made to accommodate requests for outside duty officers but there are times when staffing is not available. Vendors will be advised in a timely manner if a job cannot be covered. Coverage of a job request is not guaranteed.
Outside duty requests are subject to review by the Police Department and may be refused if the duties requested are not consistent with the policies and procedures of the Westport Police Department or against any laws or ordinances.
$82.50 per hour (effective July 1, 2018)
Officers may not accept payment directly. All billing is done through the Westport Police Department and payment sent to the department for processing.
$30.00 per hour
Jobs for which police vehicles are requested and/or required will be billed in addition to the officer rate above. Request of a police vehicle does not guarantee that one will be assigned - each request will be reviewed to determine the need for a vehicle on a case-by-case basis.
Work is scheduled for a minimum of two (2) hours. After the two-hour minimum work is scheduled at 1/2 hour increments. Construction work is scheduled for a four (4) hour minimum.

At any function where officers are being hired for security purposes and alcohol is served or allowed will be required to hire a minimum of two (2) officers. Depending on the venue and the anticipated attendance more officers may be required.
Westport Police Officers and Traffic Agents may only perform the above duties within the Town of Westport.
