Trouble finding permit parking at Saugatuck (Westport) Train Station:
Lot #7 continues to be underutilized. This lot is accessible from Riverside Avenue and Franklin Street with Sidewalks to the train station. Saugatuck Parking Map.
Saugatuck (Westport) Train Station Improvement Project:
On July 11, 2016, the Saugatuck Train Station parking lot #1 was closed for a complete renovation and new configuration which created a more efficient use of the space and added security features. Improvements include storm drainage and staircases, the addition of pedestrian walkways, LED light poles, surveillance cameras, and “blue light” emergency poles in addition to repaving and restriping the surface. In keeping up with today’s technological advances, several electric vehicle stations were added in the lot for patron use.
A new stairway connecting Westport commuter Lot No. 6 on Riverside Avenue and the recently expanded Lot No. 7 on Franklin Street is now open. Commuters can now park in Lot 7, which has 44 additional spots, walk down the stairs to the lower level (Riverside Avenue), and walk to the train station. The lots are available for merchant parking at night and weekends.
Westport Railroad Parking operations and all facilities are managed by the Westport Police Department, Railroad Parking Division. Law enforcement and security services are performed by the Police Department. Rail service is provided by Metro-North Railroad.
The stations and many of the surrounding lots are owned by Connecticut DOT.
